“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” ~Viktor Frankl
Iterative + Ephemeral
Everything is iterative and ephemeral
including each turn and phase of our existence
including the structures of both our minds
and our creations
We iterate at different speeds and times
slowly like a wave
quickly like a tsunami
we iterate and transform
and transform
and transform again until we are
(un)comfortable
our iteration is based on context
while synchronically singular and lonely
while those around and next to us
are also iterating
with cognition and without
-- an isolating dance of parallel play
We are ephemeral
and our fear understands this
small endeavors for a lasting legacy
small endeavors in denial and acceptance
We are ephemeral and fading into the quiet
maybe the quiet
We are iterative and ephemeral
and still I love you at this moment:
My heart is the sun, expanding and hungry
for all your iterations
My eyes are the stars, changing, changing
changing with and without you
for you for me for us for them
Everything is iterative and ephemeral
and as our love adjusts and reshapes
and as our love fades into the quiet
maybe the quiet
I will be waiting for the next
beautiful you
Revolutions
It was only when they were neatly
lined up next to each other,
quiet and still,
that they could be compared
and contrasted.
But then the planets realized
that they weren’t actually competing.
They were simply orbiting
and struggling with the push
and pull
of their own personal obstacles.
Regardless,
they were heavenly bodies,
each and every one.

Nature humbles
at all points of convergence,
but I am stardust
so I am fine.
